March Sightings Report: An afternoon in late March began with a quick pass of two harbor porpoises on the way to Stellwagen Bank’s north-west corner. Numerous whale species gather here every year, where they socialize and feed, providing ideal opportunities for viewing. Marine mammals are especially common to the region, and Stellwagen Bank is renowned for being one of the best whale-watching sites around.
